We are looking to diversify our Board of Trustees to bring new people with new skills to the charity, and take us in a new direction. We are currently looking for a Chair of Trustees, Trustees, Secretary to the Board.

About Endometriosis South Coast:

We are a dynamic and impactful nonprofit organisation committed to providing support, resources and information to people with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, and those yet to be diagnosed. With a strong track record of creating relationships and collaborating with other organisations, being nominated for national awards, and being at the forefront of campaigns for a hormone health hub in our home city of Portsmouth, we are dedicated to making a positive difference to the lives of the people we support.

Trustee position overview:

Our Trustees plays a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and governance oversight to the charity. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the direction of the organisation and ensure it continues to thrive, fulfill its mission, and meet its strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic leadership.
2. Governance oversight.
3. Stakeholder engagement.
4. Fundraising support.
5. Financial stewardship: Oversee the organisation’s financial health, ensuring that resources are managed responsibly and transparently.
6. Advocacy and public relations: Act as an advocate for the organisation’s mission and initiatives, engaging with policymakers, media, and the public as needed.
7. Board development: Lead efforts to recruit, onboard, and develop trustees, fostering a diverse and skilled board that contributes effectively to the organization’s success.
8. Risk management: Work with the board and staff to identify and mitigate risks to the organisation’s operations and reputation.

Qualifications:
• Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit, business, or community setting.
• Strong commitment to the organisation’s mission and values.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of nonprofit governance and best practices.
• Financial acumen and understanding of budgeting.
• Experience in fundraising and donor relations is a plus.
• Dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organisation.
